The Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India conducting CPT and for same inviting CA CPT
Application Form from willing candidates who are determined to set up career as
a Chartered Accountant. Candidates who are interested, they can fill up CA
CPT Application Form through online mode. Applier’s are advised to follow the

Common
Proficiency Test is the first level examination of CA which is conducted by Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India executes Common Proficiency Test which is a
first level examination of CA, twice a year i.e. in June and December. ICAI has
opened the doorways for those applicants who wish to enter in the CA Career.

Eligibility
Criteria
Candidates
who are willing to apply for CPT Examination, they must have either passed or
appeared in the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) from a board
recognized by the Central Government as equivalent.
Candidates
who have registered for/switched over to Common Proficiency Course with Board
of Studies of ICAI on or before 1st April, 2017 can also apply for CPT June
2017 exam. Candidates who revalidated
his/her registration to Common Proficiency Course from the concerned Regional
Office on or before the 3 years from the registration date.
Exemption
from Appearing in CPT
Those
applicants who have possessed Graduation or Post Graduation in Commerce with
minimum 55% marks from a recognized university or those applicants who have
completed their Graduation or Post Graduation other than Commerce stream with
minimum 60% marks from a recognized university are exempted from passing CPT.
They can directly apply for the next level examination of CA.
Examination
Fee Details
Candidates
who are going to apply for CA Common Proficiency Test, they are required to pay
the following amount of fee. Application fee as per Exam Centers,
- For exam centres in India only - For Filling Online Application Form; INR 500 /For Filling Physical (OMR) Application Form; INR 1500
- For Test centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat - For Filling Online Application Form; USD 150 / For Filling Physical (OMR) Application Form; USD 170
- For Test Centers in Kathmandu - For Filling Online Application Form; INR 850 / For Filling Physical (OMR) Application Form; INR 1850
Mode
of Payments
Candidates
must have to pay the above mentioned amount of examination fee by using Online
Payment gateway facility with Visa/ Master/ Maestro Credit/ Debit Card. Candidates
must have to pay the fee at the time of exam registration. Examination fees
once paid will not be repaid under any conditions.
CA
CPT Exam Pattern
The Common
Proficiency Test will be held in two sessions consisting of 4 sections i.e.
Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative
Aptitude. The Common Proficiency Test is a Paper-Pencil (PP) Mode exam.
Question
Paper Booklet of this exam will be provided in two languages i.e.
English/Hindi. To qualify this examination, candidates must have to secure at
least 50% marks in the aggregate of all Sections. There will be negative
marking of 1/4 Mark (one fourth) for each wrong answer.
How
to fill CA CPT Application Form?

Online Process
Step
– 1 Creation of Account;
- First of all, candidates must have to visit the official website of ICAI i.e. icaiexam.icai.org
- After entering to the homepage of website, follow the “Login/ Register” tab and press on “Register Now” button.
- Fill the registration form carefully with all required information and then submit it.
- After successful submission, candidates will get their user name and password through email.
- Thereafter, candidates need to login with their user name and password.
- Now, fill the online application form carefully with complete and correct details and finally proceed to the next step.
Step
– 2 Payment of Examination Fee;
After filling
the online application form, candidates must have to pay the examination fee
through online mode within given time period. After payment of fee candidates
must take a print out of PDF containing the Barcode Number and Payment
Transaction Details.
Step
– 3 Submission of Hardcopy of Application Form:
After
successful payment of fee, candidates must have to take a print out of filled
in online application form. If photographs/ signature are not appearing in the
pdf of online application form then affix 2 passport size photographs and sign
at the specific space.
Thereafter,
get it signed by parent/guardian at the specified place and this application
form must be attested by a Chartered Accountant or a Gazetted Officer or
Principal of School/College.
Attach the
print out of fee payment with filled in application form. At last, enclose it
in an envelope that must be super scribed as "Online Application Form for
June 2017 CPT Exam" and send it to the below mentioned address by Speed Post/Registered
Post.
Offline Process
Candidates
who are unable to apply online or wish to fill the physical for of CA CPT they
must have to follow the below stated steps:
- Firstly, visit the official website of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India which is icaiexam.icai.org
- After that, press on the suitable link of CA CPT Application Form June 2017.
- Read all the instructions very carefully and then download the application form in prescribed format.
- Fill the application form with your correct and complete information.
- Affix your 2 passport size photographs on the specified columns.
- After that, make attest this completely filled application form attested by a Chartered Accountant or a Gazetted Officer or Principal of School/College.
- Attach the print out of PDF containing the Barcode Number and Payment Transaction Details with duly filled form.
- Lastly, cover rthis application in an envelope super scribed with "Application for June 2017 CPT Exam" and send it to the address specified below through Speed Post/Registered Post.
