National
Eligibility Test is executed for the purpose of appointing eligible candidates
in government colleges of different states across India. Aspirants in bulk use
to appear in the examination and its main purpose is to engage willing

The CBSE
Board conducts the UGC- NET for other Science subjects, like Life Sciences,
Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth
Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the University Grants
Commission.
The tests are
organized twice in a year generally in months of June and December. But in
2017, CBSE is going to conduct exam in the month of January 2017. For entrants,
who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship is available for
five years subject to fulfillment of certain circumstances.
University
Grants Commission has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for
entrants who qualify the test for Junior Research Fellowship. The JRFs
are rewarded to the meritorious entrants from among the entrant’s qualifying
for eligibility for lectureship in National Eligibility Test. CBSE will
conduct NET in 84 subjects at 90 selected Cities of Examination spread
throughout India.
CBSE UGC NET Exam Pattern
National
Eligibility Test consists of three papers and it consists of objective type
questions in three separate sessions which as follows:
Paper-I; Paper I is of general nature,
planned to evaluate the teaching/research aptitude of the entrant. This exam will
mainly be planned to evaluate the analysis ability, comprehension, divergent
thinking and general awareness of entrant. 60 multiple type questions of 2
marks each will be given, out of which entrant will be required to answer any
50 question, in total.
In event of
entrant attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted by
entrant would be evaluated.
Paper-II; Paper-II consists of 50 objective
type necessary questions based on subject selected by entrant. Every question
will carry 2 marks only.
Paper-III; Paper-III consists of 75
objective type necessary questions from the subject selected by the candidate.
Every question will carry 2 marks only.
