For joining the Indian Army as an officer through NDA, you must be not between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age, while the course commences at NDA so you should be careful about the age limit of 19 years. Candidates, who belong to science stream, should try and join it while studying in 11th / 12th or just after passing out the 12th.

The first and foremost thing to Join NDA is to qualify the National Defence Academy written exam and the SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview. It is compulsory to clear both of them and the advertisement related to this NDA Exam is available on News Papers and the official web portals of the Armed Forces. Interested ones may apply for National Defence Academy exam through online mode and must submit it before last date.  The NDA Entrance test is a written exam which consisting of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).

If once entrance exam is concluded and the results are announced, only successful applicants are required to appear for the SSB Interview. We’re also informed you that Interview is not a one day process, it is spread across many days. In the whole process, many types of written tests and physical and psychological tests are taken during these days. Services Selection Board’s Officers will evaluate a contenders and allocate marks based on the performance put in by him in that particular examination.

At last, who scored Min qualifying marks in every exam is suggested to join NDA and remaining contenders are sent back. Those who’re in the list of unsuccessful applicants are then sent for medical checkup. After organizing the whole process a final merit list is prepared by organizing and provides the training to selected ones for joining Indian Army. In the Academy, the trainee has to complete six terms of training & studies and after completing of three years at NDA and passing out, the trainees are sent to the respective training institutes of their division of the Armed Forces.
